Slater B. Lowry, M.D.Slater B. Lowry MD

Slater B. Lowry, MD received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) and graduated from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine. He then completed a two-year residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans (affiliated hospitals include world-famous Charity Hospital). Dr. Lowry also completed a two-year program in Internal Medicine and Anatomic & Surgical Pathology at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic.

As a result of this world-class training, as well as his unparalleled commitment to his patients, Dr. Lowry’s diagnostic skills are second to none.

Dr. Lowry completed three years of active service as an officer in the US Army Medical Corps, where he served in emergency rooms and clinics, and spent a three-month tour in the harsh Mojave Desert.

Dr. Lowry is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. He is currently licensed, in good standing, to practice medicine in both Mississippi and Alabama.

Dr. Lowry saw his first patient at Lowry Medical Clinic in January of 2001.

Among his interests are many different musical genres (Dr. Lowry plays piano), travel (he has been to six of the seven continents), and working on his beloved farm 15 miles outside of Columbus. He always roots for all Mississippi teams but his loyalties lie with the Crimson Tide and University of Alabama. He is a huge animal lover and has had as many as 11 dogs at one time on his farm.

He is originally from Montgomery, Ala. but has now lived in the Golden Triangle area for over 20 years.

Keely Staten, P.A.-C

Keely is a Physician Assistant, married to Chuck Staten, a flight instructor at the Columbus Air Force Base and has 1 son, Edward Staten.

She started with Lowry Medical Clinic in the summer of 2018 and has built an amazing reputation with the patients.

In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, jogging and is very health and fitness conscientious.





Warren Edwards, M.A. & CPT / CET

Warren began his internship in 2013 under Dr. Lowry at the clinic.

Once his internship completed he was brought on as a full time staff member working alongside Dr. Lowry.

As a Medical Assistant you will see Warren, around the office in a wide range of tasks and activities from surgical to patient care.

Warren’s a licensed phlebotomist and EKG technician and is working on becoming a Registered M.A.


Lana Brown LPNLana Brown, LPN

Lana received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Bevill State Community College in Fayette, Ala. in 2010.

Lana has been with Lowry Medical Clinic since 2011.

She has one son, one soon-to-be stepson, and recently became engaged to her boyfriend of nine years.

She enjoys swimming, fishing, boating and hunting. She loves college football (War Eagle!).

Becoming a nurse was her childhood dream, so that she could help those who are sick.

Her favorite quote is, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”


Christy Johnson, M.A. & CPT

Christy has 3 children, Dylan, Austin and Brooke and 3 step children, Joseph, James and Katelyn

She has been with Lowry Medical since 2016. She enjoys patient care and takes pride in her job.

Her life revolves around her family and work. She is married to BJ Johnson and lives in West Point, MS.

She attended EMCC after her fathers passing in 2013

Victoria Pitts, M.A.

Victoria has 2 children, Paisley and Payden and is married to Dustin Pitts

She is preparing to enter nursing school to work on her RN at MUW and EMCC and wants to work in the ICU in her future do to her

grandfathers previous care. Victoria has been a part of the team here since 2016 and started out as a receptionist.

In her free time, she enjoys watching netflix with her family. Roll Tide!


Jessica Honnoll, Front Desk / Reception

Jessica has been here since 2017 and works our front desk helping patients get signed in and taking phone calls.

In her free time she enjoys being a mom of 3 kids.

Her favorite SEC team is Auburn.




Denise Malone, Coding / Billing

Denise has 15 years of experience with coding and billing in a medical setting and has great customer service skills.

She is always excited to be a part of them team and help her fellow team mates.
